What Wakes You Up?
What wakes you up in the morning? Is it your alarm clock? Or is it the desire to get up and pursue your dreams? Good players get that extra hour of sleep. Great players would rather get up and spend that extra hour in the gym.
If you want to take your game to the next level you have to manage your time wisely. As a kid I wanted basketball to be my job. So I asked myself, how many hours a day should I be practicing? Once I found out there were 8 hours in a 9-5 job, I decided one summer I’d work on my game 8 hours a day. I treated the game like a real job, and years later it became a real job! A job I loved, and didn’t take for granted, therefore I didn’t need an alarm clock or wake up call. By the time I went to sleep I was eager get up as early as possible to go practice some more.
The fact is, when you’re passionate about something, it’s possible for you to achieve it. If you throw away your lazy habits and learn to manage your time, nothing can stop you.
